Inside sources said on Tuesday that India and China are scheduled to hold their 15th round of high-level military talks on Friday to settle remaining issues in eastern Ladakh.
So far, the dialogues have resolved issues in the areas of North and South Bank of Pangong Tso, Galwan Valley, and Gogra Hot Springs. However, there was no fresh breakthrough in the 14th round of the dialogue that took place on January 12.
The two armies are scheduled to conduct the next round at the Chushul Moldo meeting point in Ladakh on Friday to end 22 months of standoff at the remaining points of friction.
The remaining friction points are in Eastern Ladakh namely, Patrolling Point 15 (Hot Spring), Depsang Bulge, and Demchok.
On May 5, 2020, the Chinese and Indian militaries began a violent confrontation along the eastern Ladakh border following a violent clash in Pangong lake. Each side currently has around 50,000 to 60,000 troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the sensitive zone.
