Four Pakistani soldiers were killed in an encounter in the Balochistan province of the country, officials said on Thursday. In another such encounter, that also took place in Balochistan, over 15 militants were killed.
An attack on security forces’ camps was made Wednesday night in Panjgur and Naushki areas of the southwestern province, where Pakistani soldiers repelled it. Gun battles began when the forces launched a search and clean operation in the two areas.
Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attacks, claiming that its Majeed Brigade had participated. As part of the attack on the security post in the Kech area, the BLA killed 10 soldiers, the second biggest incident of violence last week.
The terror attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which border war-ravaged Afghanistan, have consistently increased in recent months.
