Off the western coast of the Arabian Sea, a joint exercise between the army, navy, and air force was conducted for 20 days, aimed at improving synergy in warfare among the three Defence Services. The exercise titled Paschim Lehar involved over 40 ships and submarines, as well as Su-30 MKI and Jaguar aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
“A variety of weapon firings in a realistic tactical scenario besides validation of operational missions and tasks under varying settings, were undertaken during the exercise. The exercise was conducted over a duration of 20 days with an objective to validate operational plans of the Western Naval Command and enhance inter-service synergy among the Indian Navy, IAF, Indian Army, and Coast Guard,” the defence ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, the exercise also provided an opportunity for all participating forces to work together under realistic conditions, in responding to challenges faced in maritime affairs today, across the Command’s areas of responsibility.
