In an attack on the BJP government on Friday, the Congress charged it with removing history by burning the immortal flame at the National War Memorial and merging it with the Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate.
Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi spoke out against some people who are incapable of understanding patriotism and sacrifice, stating that the party would light the Amar Jawan Jyoti once more.
Sources within the government reported that there is a great deal of misinformation surrounding the matter, and that the flame of the Amar Jawan Jyoti is not being snuffed out, but is being merged with that of the National War Memorial.
Amar Jawan Jyoti made memorials to the martyrs of the 1971 war and other wars, but none of their names are on the flame. Officials said it was odd that none of their names are on the flame.
