
One Indian Army jawan lost his life and many other collapsed due to heat and exhaustion in an endurance exercise near Pathankot.
As per the Army sources, “In an organized, supervised, and monitored training activity undertaken by 11 officers, 11 Junior Commissioned Officers, and 120 other ranks near Pathankot in Punjab, due to severe weather conditions, there was one fatal casualty today. A few individuals including some officers/ JCOs have been admitted to Military Hospital, Pathankot. The affected personnel are being provided with requisite medical care. 9 Corps Recce Troop Competition was organised this morning in hot and humid conditions as a result of which one soldier lost his life while several soldiers collapsed and were brought to Pathankot Military Hospital.”
The wounded soldiers are admitted to a military hospital and are undergoing treatment.
