Nepal Army Chief General Prabhuram Sharma will be visiting India from November 9 to 12. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Indian counterpart General Naravane.
The Nepal Army chief will be honored with the honorary General rank in the Indian Army which will be in reciprocation of the honor conferred to General Naravane during his official trip to Nepal last year.
General Sharma will also meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, and all three services chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces.
The visit is being seen as the revival of Indo-Nepal relations that was achieved by General Naravane during his last year’s visit to the Himalayan nation.
The diplomatic relations between the two neighbouring nations had become strained over the construction of a new strategic road in Uttarakhand to the Lipulekh pass which is approximately 80 Km long last year at the India-Nepal-China trijunction.
