Approximately 2,000 to 4,000 Russian soldiers were killed in the war waged by Moscow in Ukraine, the United States Department of Defense informed lawmakers on Tuesday.
In response to a question from the House Intelligence Committee regarding the number of Russian soldiers killed so far in the current military operation, Lieutenant General Scott Berrier, director of the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency, said there are between 2 000 and 4 000.
Lt Gen Berrier added further that the estimate is considered low confidence because it was put together using a combination of sources from intelligence and other open source data.
