A terrorist recently arrested along with a hoard of arms and ammunition was plotting to carry out sensational political killings in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said on Sunday.
Firdous Ahmad Natnoo was arrested in a joint operation by the Army, police, and paramilitary forces from his village Bekhriyan in Doda on Friday. The arms and ammunition retrieved from him included five magazines, 15 rounds, and a silencer.
“Based on reliable intelligence inputs, it was learned that Natnoo was planning to execute sensational political killings in Doda district to declare terror revitalisation as well as to grab headlines thus, he and his associates were being tracked by security forces for the last two months,” Jammu-based Army PRO Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said.
The security forces also recovered incriminating materials like personal diaries, a photo album, a will cum suicide note, and a machine to probably dig hideouts beneath the ground.
