BDL signs contract to supply Konkurs anti-tank missiles to Indian army

The Indian Army and Bharat Dynamic Limited (BDL) have signed a deal worth Rs 3,131.82 crore for the manufacturing and supply of an anti-tank guided missile called Konkurs-M. The deal was signed in New Delhi and it will be executed in 3 years.

Chairman and Managing Director, Siddharth Mishra (Retd.), stated that Konkurs-M is being produced by BDL under a license agreement with a Russian original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The missile has been indigenized up to the maximum extent.

KonKurs-M is a second generation, mechanized infantry anti-tank guided missile, to destroy armored vehicles equipped with explosive reactive armor. The missile can be launched either from BMP-II tank or from a ground launcher and it has a range between 75 and 4000 meters.

In order to meet domestic and international demand for Konkurs-M, BDL has increased its manufacturing capacity. It is also proposing to offer Konkurs-M missiles to friendly foreign countries.
