BRO restores connectivity to 13 border villages of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) inaugurates a 200-feet Bailey bridge in Reini village on Joshimath-Malari road across the Rishiganga river. Now the connectivity to 13 border villages of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli has been restored, which were cut off due to flash floods on 7th February 2021.

The work of reconstruction was completed in a record 26 days by the BRO. DG BRO Lieutenant General Rajeev Chaudhary lauded the efforts of the personnel of 21 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) of Project Shivalik and his team of Karma Yogis who worked round-the-clock to achieve this feat.

The Bridge has been named ‘The Bridge of Compassion’ by the BRO as a tribute to the fallen Karma Yogis of Reini Power Plant and NTPC Power Plant.
