BSF opens fire at drone along LoC in Amritsar

A drone was spotted along the Indo-Pak border in Amritsar under Ajnala police station limits on Thursday. The drone was spotted at around 12:30 am near the Shahpur border outpost.

The 73rd battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire at the drone, following which it went back towards the Pakistan side of the border. The BSF and other security agencies are combing the area.

A similar drone was spotted along the LoC in Amritsar on the intervening night of October 19 and 20. One kilogram of heroin in a packet was recovered by BSF personnel after searching the area, PTI reported.

Following the series of drone intrusions inside Indian borders in months, the National Security Guard (NSG) has been deployed at the IAF stations in Srinagar and Jammu to provide anti-drone security cover to these important installations and establishments.
