A BSF personnel was wounded in an exchange of fire with Pakistani smugglers along the Indo-Pak border in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab on Friday, and the soldiers also seized 47 Kg heroin, two pistols, and some ammunition, Punjab police said.
The incident occurred early in the morning at 5:15 am on Friday in an area under border outpost Chandu Wadala. Gurdaspur Senior Superintendent of Police, Nanak Singh, stated that 47 Kg of heroin, two pistols, some live ammunition, and seven packets of opium have been retrieved.
The soldier of the Border Security Force (BSF) sustained a bullet injury in his head during the cross-fire with the Pakistani smugglers, the SSP said. The injured jawan was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.
