Chief of US Naval Operations visits Western Naval Command in Mumbai

Chief of US Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday described the relations between the US and the Indian navies as “unwavering”. The top brass of the US Navy made the remarks during his visit to the Western Naval Command in Mumbai.

During his speech, Admiral Gilday stressed the need for both navies to continue working together hand-in-hand to make Indo-Pacific a “beacon of hope for today and tomorrow.” He said that the price of peace and prosperity is maintaining a vigilant watch on, under and above the sea, as per the US Navy.

His visit to the Western Naval Command was the last stop of his 5-day tour to India.

Admiral Gilday also held talks with Vice Admiral Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command, during which they discussed areas for cooperation and reaffirmed the growing level of naval collaboration and partnership between the two countries.

On Thursday, the US Navy Chief hosted his Indian counterpart Admiral Singh and other senior officials aboard nuclear-powered US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson in the Bay of Bengal.
