
CRPF chief Kuldiep Singh has been handed over the additional charge of the Director-General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He will replace the current Director-General YC Modi, who retires on Monday, a Home Ministry order said.
Modi is a 1984-batch IPS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre and was appointed the chief of the federal anti-terror investigation agency in September 2017.
As a result of the superannuation of YC Modi, DG, NIA, on 31st May 2021, the competent authority has approved that Kuldiep Singh, Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), shall hold additional charge of the post of DG, NIA, till the appointment and joining of the successor or until further orders, the MHA order issued on Saturday said.
Kuldiep Singh is a 1986-batch IPS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He is the DG, CRPF, up to 30th September 2022.
