The Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Tuesday cleared an offer to acquire GSAT-7C satellite and related equipment for the Indian Air Force (IAF) at a cost of Rs 2263 crore. The communication equipment will upgrade the communication network of the IAF.
The decision of approval was taken at a meeting of the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) led by Rajnath Singh. According to the defence ministry, the DAC has accepted one capital acquisition proposal amounting to Rs 2236 crore from the IAF under the Make in India initiative for its modernization and operational needs.
“The procurement proposal of the Air Force was for GSAT-7C satellite and ground hubs for real-time connectivity of software-defined radios (SDRs).
