
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of Defence of South Korea Suh Wook jointly inaugurated an Indo-Korean friendship park on Friday.
The park has been built in the memory of contribution of the Indian peacekeeping force during the Korean war of 1950-53. The other dignitaries present during the inauguration were Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief General MM Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh, and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhasauria.
The South Korean minister arrived in India on Thursday on a three-day visit with an aim to boost bilateral defence and military cooperation. Also, South Korea has been a major supplier of weapons and military equipment to India. The minister also visited the National War Memorial and paid homage to India’s martyrs.
