Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented awards on Thursday to personnel of estates of defence for successfully surveying 17.78 lakh acres of defence land using the latest technologies.
The survey was conducted using techs like 3-D modelling, drones, and satellite imageries, and it was a maiden comprehensive exercise in decades.
Rajnath Singh while addressing at the award event, praised the personnel for completing this duty in inclement weather conditions and in uninhabited remote areas amid the pandemic.
In his remarks, Singh termed the survey as historic and expressed confidence that the clear delineation of defence land will be significant for the security and development of these areas.
Lastly, he reaffirmed the government’s resolve of ensuring the welfare and convenience of the armed forces personnel who protect the country from all kinds of threats.
