
The Director-General of Missiles and Strategic Systems (DGMSS) of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) BHVS Narayan Murthy is now responsible for BrahMos Aerospace corporation as well.
According to BrahMos officials, it is an interim arrangement and DGMSS is already on the board of BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd. The interim charge was given to him on Tuesday in view of the retirement of Sudhir Mishra whose 7-year tenure completed on November 30.
Narayan Murthy is a Chief Architect for Onboard Computer (OBC) technologies for missile systems and other defence applications. His contribution and leadership in technology over the last three decades has led to India becoming self-reliant in the development of advanced Real-Time Embedded Computers, mission computing systems, and other avionics technologies.
Murthy led the design and development of advanced Avionics for “Mission Shakti”, India’s first Anti-Satellite Missile Test (A-SAT) and long-range Missile Agni 5.
