
People familiar with the development said on Thursday that India and China are still working out a date for the next round of the Corps Commander-level talks on the Ladakh dispute, and China has not positively responded to Indian proposals regarding the dialogue.
Chinese officials have not yet responded to the Indian proposals for the 14th round of the military talks, although the Indian side has reached out to them with at least two proposals. People cited above said the Indians’ proposals include a possible broad framework and agenda items for the talks.
The 13th round of military talks between the Indian Army and the Chinese in October ended in a deadlock with the Indian Army exclaiming that it had made constructive suggestions that the Chinese did not agree with.
In the diplomatic dialogue in November, they agreed that the 14th round of Corps Commander-level talks would be held at an early date, but none has been received from the Chinese side, despite their repeated requests.
