India has banned 42 terror outfits so far

Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that, a total of 42 terror organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed have been banned by the government for their involvement in acts of terrorism, which are largely sponsored from across the border. Their names have been listed in the First Schedule of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. 

He also stated that 635 terrorists were killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir between 2018 and 2020, of which 115 civilians lost their lives to terrorist violence in the Union Territory during the period. 

He added that three civilians were also killed in the hinterland due to the terrorist violence in the last three years.
