Indian Air Force builds one of the tallest mobile ATC towers in Ladakh

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has built one of the world’s highest mobile air traffic control (ATC) towers at the Advanced Landing Ground in Ladakh. The ATC controls operations of the fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters operating in the eastern Ladakh region.

The IAF has also inducted the Igla man-portable air defence missiles to tackle any aerial incursion by any adversary aircraft. Air Force has been regularly deploying fighter aircraft including Rafale and MiG-29 to conduct operations in eastern Ladakh where there has been disengagement of troops at Pangong Tso and Gogra heights but both the armies have not de-escalated.

The Chinese army has been gathering troops since last year and had launched aggression in the garb of a military exercise after which Indian security forces retaliated and checked the Chinese aggression there. The IAF is continuously maintaining its assets in Leh along with enhancing its capabilities in the region.
