The 17th edition of the Indo-US joint military training exercise “Ex Yudh Abhyas 2021” will be conducted at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska in the United States from October 15 to 29.
The Indian Army contingent consisting of 350 troops of an Infantry Battalion Group departed on October 14. The exercise Yudh Abhyas is the largest running joint military training and defense cooperation between India and the United States. This will be the 17th edition of the joint military exercise which is alternately hosted by both nations.
The earlier version of this joint military drill was held in India at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Bikaner, Rajasthan earlier this year in February.
This military exercise aims at improving understanding, cooperation, and interoperability between the Indian and the US armies. The exercise will focus on Combined Arms Maneuvers in cold climatic conditions and is mainly aimed at sharing tactical level exercises and learning best practices from each other.
