On the occasion of New Year, the Indian Army unfurled the Tricolour in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. According to source, the army soldiers had hoisted the Indian National Flag in Galwan Valley on New Year’s Eve.
The action comes amid reports in a section of media that claimed that the Chinese soldiers had displayed their national flag in the area a few days ago.
In a statement made last Thursday, the Indian government said that it had seen reports that China is proposing to rename parts of Arunachal Pradesh and assured the nation that the border state will always be part of the country.
After the Galwan clashes in 2020, many rounds of military-level dialogues were held between the two sides. Although there was some disengagement at some border points, there is little progress toward a complete disengagement.
