The Indian Army is planning to showcase its new combat fatigues on Army Day Parade on January 15, according to the Times of India.
In addition to being lightweight, the new combat fatigue will be climate-friendly as well as suitable for India’s terrain. Adding that a new regular uniform is in the works, an officer told TOI that the new combat fatigue was designed to be more durable and camouflage better.
Indian Navy personnel have been wearing digital camouflage uniforms since last year, replacing their half-sleeved light blue shirts and navy-blue trousers.
According to the officer, the new combat uniform for the Indian army was designed following consultations with NIFT and an examination of uniforms worn by other militaries.
