On Saturday, Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Chandi Prasad Mohanty said that even though hegemonic forces try to change the status quo on false ground, the Indian Army must and will fight all threats both external and internal.
Following the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, the top army brass also lauded the increasing contribution of women to the armed forces and noted that these women have shown their mettle despite the challenging nature of the profession. He also said, “As a consequence, women are now being enrolled into other ranks as well, to overwhelming response.”
“Professional challenges will remain, be prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to meet the leadership attributes desired from an army officer,” Lt General Mohanty further added.
“Adversaries with hegemonic designs exploits opportunities to try and alter status quo on false pretexts,” Lt Gen Mohanty said indirectly pointing at China.
