Indian Navy tableau will depict 1946 uprising in Republic Day parade

At the Republic Day parade, the Indian Navy will present its tableau depicting the 1946 naval uprising, which contributed to the country’s independence. Its marching contingent will be led by a female officer.

There are 96 men in the naval contingent, three platoon commanders, and one contingent commander. In addition, Lieutenant Commander Aanchal Sharma, who is a member of Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 314, will serve as the organizer.

According to Anchal Sharma, who was commissioned by the contingent in June 2016, the enthusiasm and energy displayed by the contingent are unmatched, and it is indeed an honor to lead them at the republic day parade.

As the nation is celebrating 75 years of independence as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the navy’s contribution to the Indian freedom struggle will have a special mention in the tableau, the statement said.

The Navy said that its 72-men band at the parade will be led by Vincent Johnson, Master Chief Petty Officer Musician, and Hon Sub Lieutenant.
