Indo-China 14th round of military talks expected on January 12

Moreover, on January 12 India and China will hold the 14th round of the Corps Commander-level dialogues, with the aim of making some progress in the disengagement process at the remaining friction points in Eastern Ladakh.

The meeting will be held at the Chushul border point on the Indian side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, people familiar with the development said.

The Indian army will urge a full disengagement as soon as possible in all remaining friction points, including the resolution of issues in Depsang Bulge and Demchok.

During the last round of Corp Commander-level talks in October 10 between the two nations, neither side managed to reach any substantive agreements. Whereas, during the virtual diplomatic meet held on November 18, India and China agreed to conduct 14th round of military talks at an early possible date.

It is learned that the Indian side sent at least two proposals for the 14th round of talks in the last two months, but so far, the Chinese side has not responded positively. Both the Indian Army and the Chinese Army have deployed around 60000 troops along the LAC in sensitive areas.
