INTRODUCTION TO NCC

NCC became popular after the 1965, Indo-Pakistani War and 1971, Bangladesh-Pakistani War where it played a second line of defence. And since then it has been playing a crucial part. Here the youth are trained to make them physically and mentally strong. They are shaped like future officers who can further join forces and contribute to the nation. They are furnished with primary military training and even parades. In simple words NCC can be elucidated as a miniature version of armed forces. It is the perfect place for the youth to radiate their energy in a positive way. Youth are the building blocks of any nation. And in a country like India where the population of youngsters exceed any other age group, a youth favouring organisation like NCC plays a major role in development of the nation. National cadet corps is a voluntary organisation developed for the youth of the country with its headquarters in New Delhi.

NCC came into existence on 15th July 1948 under the national cadet corps act. It is opened to all educational institutions, for instance schools and colleges. It is a tri-service organisation consisting of all three armed forces, namely Army, Air force and naval wing.

After the Wars, its syllabus was revised again. It now included activities to improve the overall personality and to make them an active participant in social service. And since then NCC has been a crucial part of the country.
