The Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) recruits participated in a battle inoculation exercise at the Basic Training Center in Bhanu near Chandigarh. During the training exercises, recruits experienced actual field conditions reminiscent of war.
Stress management techniques were taught to recruits so that they would be prepared to deal with combat situations. A simulated operational environment was recreated during the exercise with live-fire, smoke, and shock effects of explosives, according to Ishwar Singh Duhan, ITBP Inspector-General.
As part of their training, recruits were also required to undergo battle inoculation at the end of weapons, firing, fieldwork, and drill. The recruits belonged to the 427th general duty batch, whose 44-week long training is in the final stages.
The batch comprises of 526 recruits, including 352 females and they are scheduled to pass out from the BTC next month.
