A contingent of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force has arrived in India for a 12-day joint military exercise called Dharma Guardian. The objective of this military drill is to enhance inter-operability, build mutual understanding between the two Armies, the Indian Army said on Friday.
“The contingent of @Japan_GSDF arrived in #India to take part in 12 days long #ExerciseDharmaGuardian. The Joint Military Exercise will further enhance inter-operability and foster mutual understanding between the two Armies,” the official handle of Indian Army tweeted.
Japan has been a valuable partner in India’s developmental quest, Foreign Secretary Harsh V Shringla said on Thursday. He said that both nations are planning to organize several events throughout this year to celebrate 70 years of cooperation.
On April 28, 1952, India and Japan signed the “Treaty of Peace” which established diplomatic relations between the two countries.
