Several security forces personnel were injured when terrorists launched a grenade against a joint police-BSF team in the Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. A Special Police Officer (SPO) from Jammu and Kashmir Police was also killed.
A senior official at IANS told IANS that the grenade was hurled by terrorists at a party of security forces, resulting in injuries to five members of the security forces, including the SPO who later died as a result of his wounds.
The injured have been immediately taken to the hospital nearby. Reinforcements have reached the place of incident. The area has been completely cordoned off and an operation to bust the miscreants has been started already.
