
India and Kazakhstan conducted the 5th edition of the annual bilateral joint military exercise ‘KAZIND-21’. “Troops of India and Kazakhstan carrying out the demonstration of a raid on a terrorist hideout during the joint military exercise KAZIND-21 at Training Node Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan,” tweeted the Indian Army.
Exercise ‘KAZIND-21’ is significant for strengthening military diplomacy between India and Kazakhstan and is being conducted in Kazakhstan from August 30 to September 11.
The contingent of the Indian Army was represented by a battalion of the Bihar Regiment comprising of a total of 90 personnel led by a Contingent Commander. The Kazakh Army was represented by a company group. This military drill will provide an opportunity to the armed forces of both countries to train for counter insurgency, counter terrorism ops in mountainous, rural scenarios under UN mandate, a release from the Ministry of Defence said.
