Lt Gen Dwivedi reviews security situation in Galwan valley

A review of the security arrangements was conducted by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, the commander of the Northern Army, on Monday in eastern Ladakh regions along the Line of Actual Control.

While interacting with the troops, he appreciated the operational response to the evolving threat matrix. During the faceoff with the Chinese PLA in June 2020, twenty Indian soldiers lost their lives in Galwan valley.

On the sidelines of the LG ice hockey championship which began on February 19, 2022, the senior army leader interacted with the women ice hockey players at NSD stadium in Leh and praised them.

Later Lt Gen Dwivedi visited Ladakh Scouts Regimental Center. He also paid his homage at the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Center War Memorial in remembrance of gallant ‘Nunoos’ who have given the supreme sacrifice for the country.

The Northern Army Commander is currently on a five-day visit to Ladakh. The official visit started on Sunday, that is, February 20 and will continue for next four days.
