MEDICAL AFTER SSBs
Medical Test will be conducted for the candidates recommended by the Services Selection Boards (SSBs). The medical tests are conducted in Military Hospitals (MH) which normally takes around 4-5 days.
PROCEDURE OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
⦁ SPECIAL MEDICAL BOARD (SMB):
The candidates recommended by the SSB are retained further for their medical examination. It normally takes around 4-5 days. They are given fresh medical chest numbers and have to stay in the candidate lines of the SSB.
Details of tests conducted:
DAY 1:- Blood test, Urine test, Chest X-ray, Ultrasound.
DAY 2:- Eyes check up.
DAY 3:- ENT test. ENT stands for Ear-Nose and Throat.
DAY 4:- Surgical Examination, Height and weight, Blood pressure,
Hypertension, Reproductive organs and Anus.
DAY 5:- Dental check-up.
Based on the examination candidates are declared Fit or given Temporary Rejection (TR).
It is very important that candidates undergoing medicals maintain discipline during their stay at the candidate lines and are required to wear the chest numbers within the centre.
⦁ APPEAL MEDICAL BOARD (AMB):
Candidates who get TR are required to apply for the Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within the stipulated time period i.e. 42 days from the date of declaration of medical results at SMB for re-examination with the receipt copy of the TR/MRO as directed by the President, Medical Board. The medical board at AMB will be completed in one day.
Candidates get the leverage to choose the AMB from one of the following hospitals-
⦁ Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt.
⦁ Command Hospital, Southern Command, Pune.
⦁ Command Hospital, Eastern Command, Kolkata.
⦁ Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow.
⦁ Command Hospital, Western Command, Chandimandir.
⦁ Command Hospital, Air Force, Bangalore.
⦁ Command Hospital, Northern Command, C/o 56 APO.
⦁ INHS. Ashvini, Mumbai.
⦁ REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD (RMB):
In case a candidate is declared unfit by the AMB he can challenge the proceedings and on the merit of the case, he may be granted review of the medical proceedings. The candidate has to submit a request to the Recruitment Directorate (Personnel and Coordination), Army HQ, West Block III, RK Puram, New Delhi within one day of the holding of Appeal Medical Board. The application for RMB is routed through DG AFMS, and is not a matter of right.
RMBs are conducted at R&R Hospital Delhi Cantt and AFMC, Pune.
