
Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt paid visit to forward posts in Kashmir where he asked the Indian Army to remain on toes to handle the emerging security challenges.
Bhatt was on a two-day official tour to Kashmir valley which ended on Sunday. He went to a forward post where he was apprised by local commanders about the situation related to the Line of Control (LoC), an army spokesman said.
During the interaction, MoS Defence expressed his gratitude towards the Indian Army. Bhatt reinforced the need to be prepared to meet emerging security challenges effectively, the spokesman said.
The minister also paid tribute at Chinar Corps War Memorial by laying wreathe.
On his arrival on Saturday, he was received by GOC Chinar Corps Lt Gen DP Pandey and was notified about the existing security situation and the measures being taken to protect the border and hinterland from enemies.
