Intelligence agencies say at least six groups of terrorists have seeped into India through borders in the Kashmir valley. Inputs by several agencies are now being matched by the multi-Agency Centre.
Indications suggest that at least 25-30 terrorists have been keeping various security forces engaged for the last one month. Sources said that this number is separate from those terrorists who were already in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Every day for the last one month, either an IED attack on security forces or attacks on political leaders are being reported,” a senior official told NDTV. He also told that terrorist activity has been growing on launch pads, which were abandoned after the truce was declared in February.
Many intel agencies hint that as many as 300 terrorists have again settled in the camps across the LoC. An officer leading counter-terror ops in Kashmir said that after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, social media is buzzing with celebratory messages. According to him, they are keeping a close watch on social media activities as video clips motivating youth in Kashmir to join terror outfits.
