Naib Subedar Sunil Ravsaheb Valte hailed from Dahigaon village in Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra. He joined the army in the year 1998 and was recruited into 24 MLI of the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment. In October 2019, Nb Sub Sunil Ravsaheb Valte was serving with 24 MLI and the unit was deployed in the Rajouri district of J&K.

On 22nd October 2019, a suspicious movement was noticed by the soldiers in the Nowshera sector which was accompanied by heavy shelling from across the border. Nb Sub Sunil Ravsaheb Valte and other soldiers at the forward post retaliated to the unprovoked firing and a heavy exchange of fire followed thereafter. However, during the exchange of fire Nb Sub Sunil Ravsaheb Valte got seriously injured. He later succumbed to his injuries and was martyred.
Nb Sub Sunil Ravsaheb Valte is survived by his parents, wife Mangala, daughter, and son.
