According to sources on Thursday, the CBI is getting a forensic analysis done of the voice samples collected during the covert operation to bust a network comprising Navy officers and businessmen involved in the leak and sale of the force’s sensitive information.
An officer aware of the development said the CBI has sent voice samples to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), and the results will be released in due course.
In an investigation, the CBI is looking into accusations of bribery in a deal for mine laying saddles from Allen Reinforced Plastics Limited, a Hyderabad-based company, that involves confidential information regarding the procurement and maintenance of naval equipment, the sources told The Indian Express.
In an operation that began on September 3, the agency arrested six individuals, including two retired sailors and two private individuals.
