There was no progress in the 14th round of Corps Commander-level talks between the armies of India and China over the remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh. The two sides have agreed to maintain talks to work out a mutually acceptable resolution of the remaining issues.
Both sides released a joint statement on Thursday stating that they have agreed on the next round of border dialogues which should be conducted at the earliest.
The army chief General MM Naravane had said on Wednesday that India was optimistic regarding resolving issues related to disengagement at Patrolling Point 15 (Hot Springs) in eastern Ladakh in the 14th round of the talks.
The 14th round of talks was held on Wednesday at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Chinese side of the LAC in eastern Ladakh. The joint statement mentioned that the representatives from the defence and foreign affairs establishments of the two sides were present at the meeting.
