
State news agency KCNA said North Korea will strengthen its defenses against the United States and consider resuming all temporarily suspended activities — a reference to a self-imposed moratorium on nuclear weapons testing and long-range missile tests.

According to KCNA, Kim Jong Un called a meeting of the powerful politburo of the ruling Workers’ Party on Wednesday to discuss important policy issues, including countermeasures over hostile US policy.
As the US and several other countries requested, the Security Council would convene a closed-door meeting to discuss the recent missile tests on Thursday. North Korea released an announcement hours before the meeting.
