Chairperson of the Block Development Council in Nyoma subdivision in eastern Ladakh, Urgain Chodon, on Friday posted a video alleging that People’s Liberation Army of China members had intruded into Indian territory on January 28 and disallowed the livestock herd to graze within Indian territory.
Chodon shared a short video of 45 seconds from a distance in which at least 5 people could be seen chasing a herd of livestock. The BJP member Chodon opined that the lives of nomads living along the border are like having a well in front of you and a ditch behind you.
“On January 28, PLA Army came into our territory and not letting our herds graze in our own territory at that time no action from security force, but our own herd man crossed the demarcated border to get his livestock back. The Army caught him from our own territory and sent him to the police station,” she tweeted on Friday.
She had earlier called for the construction of a fence along the Line of Actual Control for the protection of the livestock and nomads.
