During a ceremony in Jhansi on Friday, Narendra Modi presented an advanced electronic warfare system named Shakthi to the Indian Navy.

“Shakti will augment navy’s electronic intelligence capability for early warning, ships’ defence against missile attack, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for maritime domain awareness and ensure electronic dominance in the maritime battlefield,” announcement in the event stated.

The Shakti Systems, developed by Defence Electronics Research Laboratory of DRDO, are currently in production at Bharat Electronics Ltd, which is trusted with more than fifty MSMEs at a total cost of Rs 1805 crores, according to officials familiar with the development.
