Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to the United States to attend the first in-person summit of the leaders of the Quad nations – India, Australia, Japan, and the US. The summit will be hosted by US President Joe Biden.
Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison and Prime Minister of Japan Yoshinde Suga will also be present at the summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Washington on September 24.
“The Leaders will review progress made since their first virtual summit on March 12 and discuss regional issues of shared interest,” said the Minister of External Affairs in a statement.
“They will also exchange views on contemporary global issues such as critical and emerging technologies, connectivity, and infrastructure, cyber security, maritime security, humanitarian assistance/ disaster relief, climate change, and education. The Summit would provide a valuable opportunity for dialogue and interactions among the Leaders, anchored in their shared vision of ensuring a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region,” the statement read.
