President Ram Nath Kovind was present at the prestigious Indian Military College in Dehradun to attend the passing out parade on Saturday. The POP ceremony was scaled down following the tragic death of CDS General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

General Bipin Rawat was also an IMA graduate. And he was scheduled to attend the passing out parade on Saturday. Newly commissioned officers were urged by the President to be adaptable, develop a strategic mindset, and remain resilient as they struggled with challenges in their new positions.
319 gentlemen cadets from India and 68 from friendly foreign nations passed from IMA and got commissioned as officers into the armies of their respective nations. Governor of Uttarakhand Lt Gen (retd.) Gurmit Singh and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the POP ceremony.
