Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief Samant Kumar Goel and Intelligence Bureau head Arvind Kumar were given a one-year extension in their services, an official order said on Thursday.
Samant Kumar Goel is a 1984-batch IPS officer from Punjab cadre. He was appointed as the chief of RAW on 26th June 2019 replacing Anil Dhasmana. He would continue to be the Secretary of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for a period one year beyond the present tenure which ends on June 30, the order stated.
Similarly, Arvind Kumar, an IPS officer of Assam and Meghalaya cadre, will continue to head the Intelligence Bureau for a period of one year after June 30. He is a 1984-batch IPS officer and was appointed on 26th June 2019 as the 27th Director of Intelligence Bureau succeeding Rajiv Jain.
