ICGS Raziya Sultan has offered its service for the last 21 years and is named as ‘Sultan’ of the Indian Coast Guard. The ship has also glorified the name in Indian and foreign shores and has been the last of its kind in the fleet of ICG.
During the decommissioning ceremony, an impressive Guard of Honor was paraded and with sunset, the Coast Guard Ensign was hauled down on the ship for the last time. Soon, after ‘Decommissioning Pennant’ which is equal to the length of the ship was lowered.
Commander Coast Guard District Odisha while addressing the crew and CG paternity present in the ceremony, highlighted the contribution made by the ship in the region and praised it and all its crew members for their service for more than two decades.
Raziya Sultana was a Patrol Vessel registered and sailing under the flag of India. Its gross tonnage is 306 and its deadweight is 50. It was built in 1992 with overall length (LOA) 45.99-meter, and the beam is 0. Its container capacity is 0 TEU. It was operated by the Indian Coast Guard.
