RFN ROHITASH KUMAR: A BRAVE SOLDIER

Rifleman Rohitash Kumar was born on 1st July 1996. He was born to Shri Pappu Singh and Smt Ram Murti Devi in a remote village in the Mathura district of UP. He completed his initial education at a higher secondary school in Mathura. After completing the education, he joined the Indian Army and recruited into Rajputana Rifles as Rifleman Rohitash Kumar. His first posting was in Assam.

During 2018, he was posted in North-East with his unit. The area has constant terror threats from insurgent groups. Army units had to maintain regular patrol and various operations to neutralize them. On 28th March 2018, went on to patrol the Tawang sector with his party, around 5 pm, their party was hit by a mine blast, that caused heavy damage to the party. Rifleman Rohitash Kumar was injured badly and succumbed to his injuries. But he had earned a great name around his seniors in just a very short service to the nation.

He laid his life at just 22 years of age. He is survived by his parents and the other 2 siblings. He was the eldest of them all.
