Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter on Thursday that Russia has launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine and is now targeting cities with weapons strikes.
Rocket attacks were reported on military installations throughout Ukraine by Interfax Ukraine, while Russian troops landed in the southern port cities of Odessa and Mariupol. It also reported staff and passengers evacuating Kyiv’s Boryspil airport.
“Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now,” Kuleba said referring to Vladimir Putin.
Ukraine’s ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya at the United Nations has told the Security Council that the Russian President has declared war on Ukraine. In addition, he urged his Russian counterpart Vassily Nebenzia to affirm that Russia would not shell and bomb Ukrainian cities.
