During his first visit to the Philippines in more than a decade, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar held a wide-ranging talk with Teodoro L Locsin, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, on the expansion of India’s strategic and security partnership amid China’s territorial ambitions.
According to the Foreign Ministry of the Philippines, the two ministers also discussed health matters as well as regional and global issues of mutual interest.
S Jaishankar in his tweet mentioned that he had productive dialogues with Locsin Jr., as both countries enter a new phase of partnership.
“Secretary @teddyboylocsin and Minister @DrSJaishankar are expected to discuss the current robust ties between PH and India as well as future directions of bilateral relations,” the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines tweeted on Monday.
