The Foreign Ministers of the United States, India, Israel, and UAE to meet for their first-ever meeting together on Monday. The meeting is believed to be a new Quad with a focus to enhance coordination and economic partnership across West Asia.
The meeting will be held virtually coinciding with the visit of Foreign Minister S Jaishankar to Israel. As per an Israeli official, the meeting will be held on Monday afternoon.
Foreign ministers of the USA, Israel, UAE met last week in Washington coinciding with the Abraham accord. Addressing a joint press meet with his Israeli and UAE counterparts US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “We believe strongly that Palestinians and Israelis deserve to live safely, securely, with equal measures of freedom, prosperity, and democracy, and we will continue our own efforts toward that end,” which in turn fosters the creation of a Palestinian state. The three Ministers also discussed Iran’s failure thus far to return to the international nuclear deal.
S Jaishankar is on an official tour to Israel between October 17 to 21. He will hold a bilateral meeting with the alternate Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Israel.
